Insatiable Appetites

We are being fed
With a steady diet
Of falsehoods,
Manufactured truths,
And lies.

This colourful
Enhanced imagery
Strikes all our senses,
Hour after hour
Till we succumb—
Completely addicted.

Our ravenous hunger
Demands more of the same,
And they gladly
Feed us some more
Entertainment.

Look around to see
If anything
Makes you
Lose your appetite anymore.

Hatred, venom,
Bigotry, bias
Everything is ingested
Without even a burp.

Wow Anshu , I am not a poetry person ! But these lines tugged at something deep inside . Its the essence of present day moral crisis .

So true! In this era of fake news, one has to be so careful as to where one is getting their “food” from!
