Friction
October 1, 2018
I stand at the edge of the ocean
And watch the mighty waves
Lash against the rocky shore.
Their music fills my soul.
Friction.
Between the waves and the rocks
Churns out the rhythm of the sea.
Friction
Between the match and the box
Yields a spark that can light our lives
Friction
As your ideas clash with mine
Can turn into a new story
If we can read between the lines.
The friction of love
Between you and me
And their impressionable imprints
Shape the journey of our lives.
As I stand at the edge of the ocean
And watch the mighty waves
I miss the music we made together
As I watch the boundless sea
I wish we could find
A horizon to meet again.
